Obesity~

* Consummation- A social and economic order based on fostering a desire to purchase goods and services in ever greater amounts.

'Victoria's Bakery' - Ipswich Town Centre
One thing about obesity, in my opinion, is that it is easily given in to. There are so many temptations,    and then there's the issue of mass consumption. Obesity only occurs in a society of mass consumption, which  contrasts to a society of mass poverty. Society's of mass poverty, the level of consumption is low, therefore the chance of obesity is low.

Having attractions like the 'Candy Cart' in a place where the majority of people would be, is a temptation for small children, or even adults. Having the price of the sweets so low, also increases the idea of mass consumption.

Temptations, like a 'Ben&Jerry's' Ice cream, vending machine, can be a possible lead to over weight or obesity. If your out shopping for a day, and need a snack, a pot of ice cream, wouldn't be the healthiest choice, and as the vending machine is bang in the shopping centre, it's quick and easier to get to.

This image shows evidence of mass consumption.
Packages, boxes and creates for food supplies  sold on the market, piled up in the centre of town, is not a very attractive view, and shows how much food we sell/buy within a day.

Overall, my idea of what causes obesity and the main problem, is mass consummation. My idea on how to solve it, is to cut down on vending machines and sweet stalls in popular areas.
